Nearmap Brand Activation Launch
Experiential & Exhibition
July 2024
Our client Nearmap was launching their new brand identity and logo. We used their aerial image mapping technology to do a brand activation that would make a mark, literally, on one of the top 10 urban wonders of Australia.
Delivery
To help our client Nearmap, a global leader in location intelligence solutions, make a mark, we placed a 45m x 13m Nearmap logo banner on a carefully chosen grassed area in the Arboretum, and the Nearmap plane flew over, capturing the moment in high resolution. The pilot flew in a cross-hatch pattern at 19,000 ft above sea level, completing flight plans in just over 2.5 hours.
There were numerous logistical challenges – the banner had to be as flat as possible, we needed to factor in structures and other elements around the site, and we needed to capture interesting perspectives in oblique, 2D and detailed views, zooming in and cropping as necessary. We also needed a sunny day to avoid cloud obstruction.
Achievements
Getting the size of the banner right to be seen from the aeroplane and in the footage.
Producing footage that was perfect for purpose.
Sparking curiosity with Nearmap customers, creating a series of content and storytelling opportunities.
Providing a behind-the-scenes look at Nearmap technology (HC3) and capture program.
Mass awareness and engagement with the new Nearmap brand by having it appear in Nearmap timeline history.
Location was shared by Nearmap with its active global social community of over 150,000 across platforms.
